Our STORY
The Oklahoma City Charity Scotch tasting is the event that started it all! The first Scotch tasting, an auction item won at a 2005 charity event, was supposed to be a one-time event with a few friends. After the first Scotch tasting, people started reaching out and asking to be invited back the next year. A decision was made quickly to hold the Scotch tasting in 2006 and charge people to attend with the money going to a childrens' charity. From that moment on, the Oklahoma City Charity Scotch Tasting has grown to become an annual Oklahoma City favorite.
In 2015, the Maine Event OKC and WSKY Q & Blues were created by Mark Mann and Marc Brockhaus to help two Oklahoma City public schools fill the gaps created by state budget cuts. Both events have grown in just a few short years. In fact, in just four years, WSKY Q & Blues has become the largest whiskey tasting event in Oklahoma! Serving more than 70 whiskeys to more than 500 guests, the event is now as large as similar events in other cities around the country.
The three events were brought together in 2017 under the umbrella of the newly created Onward Oklahoma Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity.
